NBA News: Despite winning two championships while former President Donald Trump was in office, the Golden State Warriors made their first journey back to the White House since Barack Obama’s administration on Tuesday.
After point guard Stephen Curry had decided against travelling, Trump had made a show of officially rescinding his invitation. The Golden State Warriors are always welcome in this White House, though, according to President Biden, who welcomed them back into the fold.
The president continued by honouring the Warriors’ talent and tenacity for winning four championships throughout their run at the top of the NBA Western Conference and beyond.
The Warriors are a team that plays with excitement and a desire to perform at their highest level. They are known for their continual motion, individual freedom, and individuality.
He made a joke about the difficulties and struggles the Dubs had faced, saying, “Fellas, I know what it feels like.”
The vice president and ardent supporter of the Warriors, Kamala Harris, echoed the sentiment and added some of her own amusing anecdotes about Curry’s team.
NBA News: Harris described her personalised Warriors jersey
“a representation of tenacity, determination, and collaboration” and said she puts it on her treadmill at home.
She will be able to expand her collection now that she and Biden each received a new jersey on Tuesday. Biden had number 46 because he was the 46th president, whereas hers had number one, making her the number one fan, according to her.
Curry swiftly moved on to applaud Biden and Harris for all they had done to bring WNBA star Brittney Griner home following her ordeal in a Russian state prison, expressing his hope that he would find it hung up someplace in the White House.
Curry said, “It means a lot to know she’s here and safe at home with her family.”
The squad would get to settle in for the evening, enjoying both serious and lighthearted chats as they reflected on their past season’s accomplishments and discussed what lay ahead.
Curry and company will try to repeat their recent successes in order to advance to the summer playoff play-in rounds.
