IPL Trophy: The final of the IPL 2023 saw Chennai Super Kings defeat Gujarat Titans by a margin of five wickets.
In the final match of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad to win the title for the fifth time.
By winning the championship game by five wickets, Chennai won the IPL 2023 in spectacular style. The audience went wild in the celebrations as the MS Dhoni-led team etched their mark in history.
Chennai also paid a special puja at the Thiyagaraya Nagar Thirupati Temple for their IPL championship. On several social networking sites, the puja photo has been doing the rounds.

Speaking of the game, Gujarat Titans lost the toss and choose to bat first. The reigning champions got off to an explosive start thanks to openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha. Gill hit 39 runs in 20 balls, while Saha accumulated 54 runs in 39 balls. For Gujarat in the first innings, Sai Sudharshan stole the show. The 21-year-old batter scored 96 runs in 47 balls, and his knock was crucial for Gujarat in notching up 214 runs on the board.
However, as Chennai moved in to chase the score, rain halted play once more and the MS Dhoni-led side had a revised DLS target of 171 runs to chase in 15 overs. When they were sent in to bat, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad had successful first innings performances, with Conway scoring 47 runs in 25 deliveries and Gaikwad adding 26 runs in 16 balls.
Additionally, Ajinkya Rahane (27 off 13) and Ambati Rayudu (19 off 8) made brief cameo appearances to help their team get even closer to a victory, but Shivam Dube (32 off 21) and Ravindra Jadeja (unbeaten 15 off 6) were the two players that carried Chennai to a decisive title win.
