Chelsea player Tiemoue Bakayoko is said to be looking to join AC Milan in the next transfer window.
Monaco currently has the option of converting the loan spell of the player into a permanent move, but that is deemed highly unlikely due to the current financial environment. Bakayoko has been on his contract with the Blues for just over two years.
Even if they want to recover near to the £40 m they shelled out three years ago, Chelsea will have to lower its price in order to lure Milan into an offer.
After failing to impress at Stamford Bridge during the 2017-18 campaign, Bakayoko was lent to Milan, where he was twice in 31 Series A appearances.
Although the 25-year-old has since moved to Monaco, Calciomercato reports that Bakayoko has set his sights on a second San Siro spell.
Such unexpected developments, while signifying major losses for leading clubs, may thus have a sliver of a silver lining- Bakayoko getting to come back to AC Milan.
