Barcelona is considering a swap deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz, according to a source.
German outlet Sport1 indicates that Barca has already made initial contact with Leverkusen.
Thanks to the lack of income caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Catalan giants are unable to match up to the Bundesliga club’s almost nine-figure value. Nevertheless, it is believed that Barca could sell a few players and a smaller sum of cash to the international Germans.
Emerson Leite, Carles Alena and Marc Cucurella are said to be the players Barcelona is prepared to swap for Havertz to join the company.
Havertz had another outstanding season with Leverkusen and is believed to be on the radar of several clubs around Europe.
Liverpool and Manchester United were both linked, but Bayern Munich is believed to be leading the chase for the 20-year-old. Now, it seems Barcelona could contend with Bayern for Havertz.
