Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo is in the transfer category and he may be heading for a 20 million euro transfer to the Premier League of Everton, Sport.es reports.
Only eighteen months ago Barcelona brought Tobido to Toulouse in a contract worth around two million, winning Juventus’ competition. In January, Todibo left the club on loan to Schalke, who has an opportunity to purchase 25 million. Schalke reported to Barça a month ago and applied for an extension of the loan, but it was turned down by the Catalan club because of the interest in Todibo.
The German club is indeed pleased with the defender but they will be stopped by the coronavirus pandemic from paying the amount required to make the transfer permanent.
Meanwhile, Everton first made contact weeks earlier to ask about the plans of Barça. With past deals involving Digne, Gomes and Mina, there is a strong partnership between the clubs. The Premier League side did not offer the 25 million demanded but offered 20 million set with 5 million add-ons based on the success of Todibo.
Todibo himself is open to moving to England but he would rather remain at Camp Nou. In the coming days Barça will have to make a decision. Many clubs have already been talking about Todibo.
Barca are willing to sell player to the highest bidder, as long as Todibo is pleased with the offer. Barça will probably earn a lot of cash on this deal.
