La Stampa says that Andrea Barzagli, assistant manager to Maurizio Sarri, has already agreed to leave the staff of Juventus.
The 39-year-old retired in June 2019 and took some time off before he agreed to return to work as assistant manager for Sarri in Turin.
Although the contract was to run until June 2022, La Stampa – backed by a number of other sources, including Sportitalia and Tuttomercatoweb – reported that Barzagli had decided to leave prematurely.
It was only on September 25 that he was given the task of working with the defenders, including his former teammates Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci. Apparently, he has quickly come to the decision that a managing position at Juve is not his cup of tea.
He wore the Juve jersey from January 2011 until his retirement at the end of the last season.
