Playing in empty stadiums doesn’t make much difference for teams, claims the legend of Bayern Munich, Franz Beckenbauer.
“It was an outstanding football game under these conditions, without crowds and noise.” Beckenbauer told Sport1.
He claims he’s liked the match and he doesn’t believe the players’ quality of atmosphere was changed much.
“Both teams played well. It really was, really good football,” he says. “The Bavarians are in very fine form but the Frankfurters performed very well as well. They were down 3-0, then back to 3-2.”
He adds: “Bayern immediately found their act together again and it was 5-2 all of a sudden. It had been a very interesting game.”
