Karim Benzema added that he is happy to get the chance to finish the LaLiga Santander season with his Real Madrid teammates.
“We really want to get back to the competition and win games,” he told Real Madrid’s official channels. “It is difficult to go two months without touching the ball.
“Now we are doing well and we are going to continue working together.
“The first [game], against Eibar at home, is very important and we will give everything until the end.
“It is different to play behind closed doors because we always need the fans but I hope that they are all supporting us in front of the television.
“We know that we have to win the matches because it is important and we’ll give it everything we’ve got.”
Los Blancos returned to collective training recently, and Benzema said:
“Today we already played more with the ball than last week’s [training], which was more physical.
“It is better to be with everyone and [train] with the ball because at home it is more difficult to be just touching the ball.
“[At home] it is more gym and fitness work.”
Benzema has also revealed the message from Zinedine Zidane to players from Real Madrid ahead of the return of the season. The French striker said his fellow countryman urged his team to enjoy their football as games returned:
“Zidane’s message is to enjoy and play football.”
