According to yesterday’s Daily Mail report, William Carvalho of Real Betis is a summer target for Inter Milan and Leicester City. It also mentions other teams, such as Monaco.
The transfer market is likely to have only limited activity this summer, but that hasn’t stopped the links being made across the market.
Betis will be reluctant to let go of one of their regular starters, but may also accept that it may be a necessary move to proceed to the next stage as they too look in a post-coronavirus landscape to regenerate.
Their reluctance is justified. Since moving there from Sporting in Portugal, the defensive midfielder has impressed in Seville and after years of Premier League links it looks as if the move could finally come to pass.
Leicester are well stocked in the central midfield. However, their evident pursuit of Carvalho may indicate that they are willing to sell the Wilfred Ndidi.
Inter, on the other hand, are midway through a reconstruction under Antonio Conte, and, as part of that, may be interested in midfield reinforcements.
