A third Brighton player has now been infected with the coronavirus, the club said.
Two players were infected before, and a third was revealed to be positive on a test they conducted at the club on Saturday.
“This new, third case worries us particularly because we have taken all the precautions and protections in recent weeks,” said club CEO Paul Barber.
The names of the players have not been released. Also, the entire team will have to be quarantined, the BBC reported.
English clubs will decide on Monday the fate of this season and the idea of continuing the championship by playing on neutral ground, most likely Wembley.
Brighton and four other clubs are against continuing the championship.
