Champions League referee Slavko Vincic was arrested by the Bosnia and Herzegovinia police for his supposed involvement in a ring of prostitution and drugs.
Vincic is the one who took charge of the match between Genk and Liverpool in this season’s European elite competition as well as two further Champions League games and one in the Europa League.
He was arrested alongside Tijana Maksimovic, who is believed to be the leader of the prostitution ring. Maksimovic was detained while trying to cross the Croatian border in a boat that was carrying three women as well.
While it is claimed that Vincic is not personally involved in the case, he is accused of being one of the 26 people reportedly caught with drugs and illegal weapons.
Vincic was arrested in a cabin in Bijeljina where the authorities found 9 women, 26 men, and a weapon cache and cocaine, Croatian daily 24Sata informs.
