Chelsea is said to be ready to profit from the selling of their forward Michy Batshuayi during the next transfer window.
Although the Belgium International has remained a part of Frank Lampard’s squad this season, the 26-year-old has only scored once in all competitions since October 30. Moreover, his eight Premier League goals coming from five starts and 43 substitutes are not exactly prime statistics.
So, after heading to Stamford Bridge in 2016, Batshuayi has never been seen as a first pick.
Assuming that Batshuayi has only over a year left on his contract, HLN suggests that West Ham United is keen to strike a trade with its London rivals. Nevertheless, considering the financial consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, the report adds that Chelsea must be able to reduce its supposed value by £40 m.
Although playing for the Blues, Batshuayi also spent loan periods at Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Crystal Palace, scoring 18 goals out of 50 outings.
