Chelsea reportedly set an asking price of about £60 million on Jorginho in the wake of reports linking him to a move to Juventus.
Juve’s boss, Maurizio Sarri, worked with Jorginho in Napoli before taking him to the Stamford Bridge, and he now reportedly wants to join the midfielder in Turin for the third time.
However, with Barcelona also interested in Jorginho if the swap deal involving Pjanic falls through, Tuttosport reported that the Blues have accelerated the process by asking Juventus how much a straight cash deal to sign Jorginho would cost.
A possible swap deal that would see Miralem Pjanic move to Barcelona has been reported. But Barcelona’s Arthur Melo appears to be unwilling to leave Barcelona and be signed by Juve. So, as part of Juve’s plan B, they have an eye on Jorginho.
Also, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is rumoured to be interested in that scenario.
The London outfit wants between €65 m (£58.2 m) and €70 m (£62.6 m) for Italy international – slightly more than they paid to sign it two years ago.
Jorginho scored nine goals in 91 games for Chelsea since joining the club.
