During Atletico Madrid ‘s training session on Monday, Joao Felix sprayed ligaments in his left knee and that will keep him on the sidelines for about three weeks.
Two ailments (prior to this one) have ensured that Joao Felix only played in 28 games this season, so far.
First, it was a sprained ankle against Valencia which caused him to miss four games in LaLiga Santander and two in the Champions League.
Then, a muscle injury at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu before the Madrid derby saw him miss three league games and the first leg of the Champions League against Liverpool.
This is the third injury Joao Felix suffered at Atletico during his first season.
“Joao Felix has suffered a low-grade medial collateral ligament left knee sprain, as confirmed by tests he underwent at the Clinica Universidad de Navarra,” Atletico’s statement read say Marca.
In principle, however, the 20-year-old will not miss any game time as the first La Liga Santander match for Los Rojiblancos comes in just under three weeks after the restart at Athletic Club.
