The Liverpool board has reportedly been told by Jurgen Klopp of his intention to negotiate a contract this summer for Timo Werner.
Klopp is apparently willing to add Germany international to his ranks at Anfield. According to The Guardian, the manager of Liverpool made it clear that Werner would be a ‘good’ signature.
For the RB Leipzig striker, who has accrued a total of 30 goals and 12 assists in all competitions this season, the Reds have long been linked with a swoop.
Latest news, however, had indicated that Liverpool had withdrawn its interest in Werner in the face of financial issues resulting from the coronavirus pandemic- with the release clause for the striker reportedly set at € 60 million (£ 52.7 million).
The article also indicates that Werner is keen on transferring to Merseyside and that Liverpool will have to trigger the release clause for the 24-year-old until June 15.
Despite these setbacks, Klopp seems determined to sign the player.
