There was much speculation on a possible Lazio move from Ciro Immobile to Napoli.
However, Lazio sporting director Igli Tare quickly moved to stop the rumours from spinning out of control.
“There has never been contact or a request from Napoli for Immobile,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “Also, because Immobile is Lazio and vice versa. I think, I hope and I want it to stay like that for many years.”
He thus claims the future of Italy remains at the Olimpico say Football Italia.
The 30-year-old transferred to Lazio on July 27 and since his return to Italy has bagged 116 goals for the Aquile, including 27 matches this campaign in 26 Series A.
While Immobile is gunning a record of 36 goals in a single season for former Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain, the Partenopei have appeared in association with the former Torino forward.
