Former footballer Marcello Lippi backed former Roma and Italian midfielder Daniele De Rossi to embark on a ‘good’ coaching career.
Lippi, who hung up his boots in January and plans to become a tactician say Football Italia, is well acquainted with De Rossi. De Rossi won the 2006 World Cup with the middleman.
“I’ll say about him what I’ve said about all the great champions I’ve coached, which is that, beyond being great champions, they were great men,” the 71-year-old told Corriere dello Sport.
“He’s also a wonderful person and he’ll be able to involve everyone who will work alongside him, whether it’s as a coach or sporting director.
“I don’t know what he’ll end up doing. I think he’ll become a coach, but either way, he’ll be successful because he has great qualities,” Lippi said.
