Milan is planning to join Olympique Lyonnais winger Memphis Depay in a €20 m cut-price contract, Tuttomercatoweb says.
According to the Italian article, the deal is worth EUR 20 m plus a percentage of any potential transfer fee. It would be a bargain for Milan because Depay’s asking price was €50 m not so long ago.
Depay came through the PSV Eindhoven Academy, moved to Manchester United in 2015, and was sold to Lyon in January 2017.
The 26-year-old Dutch international is reportedly out of action following a torn anterior cruciate ligament but will be able to resume next season.
Depay had an exciting season before his injury, scoring 14 goals in 18 competitive games, including five in five Champions League appearances.
His contract with Lyon expires in June 2021 and is unlikely to be renewed, particularly as early termination of Ligue 1 means that the club does not qualify for Europe.
