Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reported that none of their remaining La Liga home matches will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu as the tournament resumes.
“We have made the choice to compete in the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium in our Ciudad Real Madrid all the games in which we will participate as the home team.” Perez wrote in a letter to Madrid’s fans.
Perez confirmed the decision was taken to finish the initiative away from the Bernabeu so that repairs could be done at the iconic stadium before time.
The new Bernabeu was supposed to be finished in the summer of 2022, although Perez’s announcement can see the project built ahead of time:
“This decision will help us to make progress in Santiago Bernabeu stadium works.”
