Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo believes that the change to his boots will get a stronger grip on the turf and allow him to run faster, according to Tuttosport and Sport Mediaset.
So, CR7 is reportedly using rugby-inspired new studs to gain an additional advantage on the pitch. These are probably more than metal rubber studs, allowing for more flexibility and speed.
It is not entirely a new idea, as since 19 February Montpellier forward Andy Delort has already been using these studs. They seem to work, as Delort set a record in Ligue 1 by sprinting at 36.8 km/h for this season.
