It is alleged that the Italian Government has reaffirmed its position on the 14-day quarantine and insists on mandatory isolation of the entire team in the event of a single positive test.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports that following a meeting between FIGC President Gabriele Gravina and Health Minister Roberto Speranza, the quarantine decision set by the CTS remains in effect.
The paper writes that the government has chosen to ‘follow the Technical and Scientific Committee’s decision.’
Thus, in the case of a new positive result, the entire team will be subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine. This means that the club struck could possibly be entirely out of action for the immediate matches to follow, which is why this rule was challenged by Series A clubs.
Series A is expected to resume on June 20, while on June 12 and 13, the Coppa Italia will restart football with the semi-finals’ return legs.
