Serie A clubs can make up to five substitutions for the remainder of the season, according to Football Italia.
The move, by FIGC, comes as part of the International Football Association Board (IFAB)’s provisional new ruling intended to help sides restart their respective campaigns following the shutdown of coronaviruses.
A statement released by the FIGC added that teams were still limited to three intervals, excluding half-time, for making substitutions in each match. The following are some of the more detailed provisions:
- In the event of both teams simultaneously changing players, that will count as only one of their three intervals.
- On the other hand, a fourth interval will be awarded to clubs to make a substitution in ties to Coppa Italia, which will go into extra time.
