According to AS, Diego Simeone has given the management of his Atletico one task this summer. They are to bring him Thiago Almada, whom the Argentine media call the successor of the great Juan Roman Riquelme.
Almada is a 19-year-old offensive midfielder for Velez who has been a member of the cult Argentine club for ten years. This season he has accumulated 25 appearances, five goals and two assists in all Almada competitions, and is currently a member of the Argentine U-20 team for which he has played seven games (one hit).
Joining the Argentinian club a younger age than his teammates, he thus became a starter and their main player within a span of just two years.
Simeone is delighted with the young player, so the management of Atletico sent an official offer of 22 million euros.
