Liverpool wants to sign Lille attacker Victor Osimhen according to, but Tottenham Hotspurs is now looking to hijack the move.
Liverpool could use another striker to challenge Roberto Firmino for the starting berth.
But the Reds are better off signing someone who can play with Firmino as backup. Someone like Osimhen is highly talented, and will require a regular berth in starting line-ups.
Moreover, for a player who is largely unproven at the highest level, the asking price seems too steep.
For the 21-year-old, Lille wants around £ 75 m.
So, it’ll be very surprising if Spurs can afford that as well. The current health crisis had affected their finances.
It will thus be interesting to see if the Londoners will present an offer for Osimhen in the coming weeks.
Osimhen scored 18 goals for his club this season and he could be a good addition to the attack made by Jose Mourinho. For now, though, he may be out of their reach
The Lille star was closely linked this summer with a move to the Premier League. Naples are also keen on him.
It remains to be seen where the player ends up.
