Javier Zanetti has been talking about his ‘pride’ of it being 25 years since he officially unveiled himself as an Inter player.
Zanetti, now 46, was the first signing of the Massimo Moratti era at Inter in the summer of 1995. The Nerazzurri payed €6.5 m to Argentina’s side Banfield for the then-21-year-old right-back.
He went on to become the player with the most appearances in the history of the club (858), in 2010, winning five Scudetti, four Coppa Italia and the Champions League.
He retired from professional football in 2014 and was fast-tracked to his current position of Vice-President.
“Twenty-five years ago, today, [was] my official presentation with Inter,” he tweeted. “Still a beautiful moment to watch and remember with pride, for the start of my fantastic story with the Nerazzurri family.”
