Cricket News: Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli joined forces for India at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as the Rohit Sharma-led team attempted to chase down 160 against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super 12 Group 2 match of the 2017 T20 World Cup. This occurred at 31-4 in the seventh over. The pair went on to put together a 113-run stand for the fifth wicket, showing excellent communication skills. Hardik first assumed the role of being the aggressor, but when he found things difficult, Kohli made the decision to pursue the bowlers.
Mohammad Nawaz ended the partnership in the game’s final over by dismissing Hardik for 40. But in the end, Kohli made sure that India won the match by four wickets by chasing down 16 runs off the final 5 balls of the innings.
When Hardik and Kohli chatted after the victory, the latter described what it was like to bat with the former India captain. Hardik also praised Kohli for hitting consecutive sixes off of Haris Rauf in the innings’ 19th over.
“Because I am aware of how crucial Virat Kohli’s two shots were, and even if you had missed one, the game would still have been in your favour. I have struck many sixes, but those two sixes were truly exceptional. We honestly had so much excitement about what it represented for us both. I told him that even though I had played a lot of cricket, I didn’t think anyone else except Mr. Kohli could have made those two strokes “In a video that was uploaded to the BCCI website, Hardik informed Kohli.
“Yes, the nicest part of today was that we battled together despite our difficulties. If we had just walked and sailed through making outstanding photographs, this would not have been as special. We struggled, so it seems more special. We were discussing how challenging it was with one another. Pakistan deserves praise as well; they bowled superbly. They were excellent ” he added.
Pandya continued by describing his feelings while playing against Pakistan: “I could feel that there was a lot of pressure in our room. It was a tremendous game, but for some strange reason, as I fell to the ground today, I was really numb. I’m really relieved to be here because this is where I wanted to be. I value the kind of relationships I have with everyone in our group.”
“At that point, I would have taken a bullet for you, but I would not have let you escape. My intention was to do anything I could to make your life simpler. No one is better at handling pressure than you because you have done it so frequently, ” he added.
