Darts News: On Friday, Fallon Sherrock defeated Lithuania’s Darius Labanauskas 6-1 to go to the quarter-finals of the Nordic Masters.
Sherrock, a Grand Slam quarter-finalist who finished second in the tournament’s debut staging in Copenhagen last year, averaged 80 and hit a magnificent 142 checkout his route to a superb triumph.
‘The Queen of the Palace’ recovered from a disappointing early loss to Leonard Gates at last week’s US Darts Masters to reach the final eight, where she will face top seed Michael Smith, who began his pursuit for back-to-back World Series titles with a 6-2 victory over Danish No 1 Vladimir Andersen.

Sherrock was defeated in a thrilling final by Van Gerwen a year ago, after a spectacular comeback from an 8-2 deficit to defeat Dimitri Van den Bergh in the semi-finals.
The 27-year-old, who is hoping for another fairytale run in Copenhagen, jumped out to a 4-1 lead over former World Championship quarter-finalist Labanauskas before scoring a ceiling-raising 142. (T20, T20, D11).
Labanauskas, who had missed a total of 16 darts at double, was broken again in the next leg, this time by Sherrock, who took out 85 for a fantastic victory.
In other action, defending champion Michael van Gerwen began his title defence with a commanding 6-1 victory over experienced Finnish player Marko Kantele.
Van Gerwen surged to victory with 157 and 103 finishes in back-to-back legs, and he will now face James Wade in the Premier League Play-Offs on Monday.
Wade won his first match 6-3 over Madars Razma, while world champion Peter Wright had the best performance of the night, averaging 103.66 in a rout of big stage rookie Matthias Orn Fridriksson.
Wright now faces Gary Anderson, who came back from a 5-3 deficit to beat seasoned Swede Daniel Larsson in an all-Scottish match.
Gerwyn Price overcame a sluggish start to defeat home favourite Brian Lokken, reeling off five consecutive legs from a 2-1 deficit to clinch a match against Dimitri Van den Bergh in the quarterfinals.
Happy with my victory this evening, I could have been a little better but a good start. It felt so good to be back in Copenhagen after last year. The fans were brilliant and thank you for all the support 💚 pic.twitter.com/ksU5r9Jh1H
