Antonio Conte: Christian Eriksen played for Tottenham Hotspurs from 2013 until his move to Inter in 2020. It was Conte who was the manager of Inter at the time and the person who signed Eriksen up in Milan.
However, following the cardiac arrest the Dane suffered at Euro 2020, he joined Brentford on a free this January on a six month contract.
Meanwhile, Antonio Conte had left Inter Milan at the end of last season and later joined Spurs as the manager.
These two men will reunite this Saturday when Spurs travel to the Brentford Community Stadium. Ahead of the fixture, the Italian spoke about the reunion to reporters on Thursday.
“To meet him tomorrow for a game will be a pleasure. I’m very happy to see him, to play football again because the images were terrible for everybody. We suffered a lot for him and his family,” Conte said.
“It’s incredible because not many times this happens and to see him play football again makes me very happy because football is life.
“I had the opportunity to meet him when he had just arrived in Brentford. I spoke to him and his family. We’re talking not only about an important player but a great man. I wish him and his family the best for the present and the future.”
