Sergio Busquets, a Barcelona midfielder, has visited Lionel Messi at his home, as Barcelona players pay farewell tributes to Messi.
Messi’s imminent return to the club, after being a free agent since July, went into disarray overnight, on Thursday night. Then, instead, the club announced it would be unable to confirm a new five-year contract with the Argentine.
And now Sergio Busquets has led the tributes for the exiting legend by paying Messi a farewell visit at home.
In fact, following training at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, a number of first-team players visited Messi. According to Marca, they travelled to Messi’s home in the Castelldefels neighbourhood of Barcelona to bid him farewell.

Photographers captured Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets visiting Lionel Messi’s home in Catalonia. And, after this, the Spanish international later posted an emotional tweet (football live today) to his former La Blaugrana captain.
“I can only thank you for what you have done for the club and specifically for me”, he said.
“You came as a child and you are the best player in history, having made this club grow to the height it deserves and making history individually and collectively,” Busquets continued, about the GOAT, the best football player in Barcelona history at least.
“I can always say I played and shared many moments with you, most of them very good and I was lucky to grow and enjoy it by your side 13 seasons.”
Ansu Fati, a teenage sensation from Barcelona’s La Masia academy, just as Messi once was, also paid tribute to Messi.
Fati credited Messi with playing a key role in his rise from La Masia prospect to the first-team star.
“All the boys of La Masia dream of being able to play with you and I feel fortunate to have fulfilled that dream”, he said.
He also thanked Messi for being affectionate and educational for him in the senior team across the last 18 months:
“I want to thank you these two years and for your gestures of affection towards me and for everything I learned.
“My family and I will always have a love for you and I wish you and your family all the best.”
Philippe Coutinho and Xavi Hernandez, both Barcelona superstars, have also posted personal farewell messages.
