England’s ex-captain Tony Adams is a great admirer of Bukayo Saka. Only Lionel Messi is currently better of all football players in the world, he thinks.
“Only one player in the world better than Saka at the moment”
With twelve goals and ten assists, Saka is on a roll in the Premier League and England also distinguished himself with a beautiful goal against Ukraine. Adams writes in The Sun that he only estimates Messi higher than the 21-year-old right winger at the moment.
The former Gunners defender claimed, “Bukayo is in excellent form and the reason Arsenal are at the top. For Manchester City, Erling Haaland may be scoring hundreds of goals, and Marcus Rashford is also enjoying a fantastic season for United. Nonetheless, Bukayo is deserving of being named footballer of the year because he led England to victory at the World Cup and is the greatest player on the squad that is leading the Premier League by eight points.”
Saka is about to renew his Arsenal contract, which is about to expire. The winger performs this under “Mesut Ozil-like” circumstances, according to various English media.
It doesn’t matter to Tete whether Koeman still calls or not
Kenny Tete of Fulham and Ronald Koeman are not always headed in the same direction while they remain in London. The Fulham back did not take the Orange national team coach’s remarks too seriously.
Tete was disappointed that he wasn’t given an Orange invitation since he had secretly hoped to rejoin the Dutch national team. The Fulham right-back stated, “Roughly speaking, it feels like you’re being played with your balls a little bit at the end of the drive.”
Ronald Koeman, the national coach, does not consider Tete to be a prospect for international football because of those statements. “I believe Tete shouldn’t criticise me if there is anyone. Aside from his ailments, he was also present during my previous period. Though I’m not vindictive. Everyone has the right to express their opinions within a specific framework. Maybe I’ll call him when this international period is through,” the national coach added.
Tete is also unaffected by the situation. He definitely doesn’t view Orange as a closed book. “I’m not arguing that anything he says is correct or incorrect. Always speak from a place of emotion. That’s actually rather good. We say things because we are emotional because we are human. That’s wonderful,” he said to Viaplay. “I truly enjoyed working with him, and I had a great relationship with him.”
The call from Koeman has not (yet) come. But that’s not a big deal for Tete either: “If he calls me, he calls me. I understand he called some other guys. Not me yet. Maybe it will, maybe not. So be it.”
