This week the LaLiga campaign resumes and Barcelona has been given a boost as Lionel Messi returned to group training.
Also, back with the main group on Monday was Barcelona full-back Nelson Semedo, another who had been training alone because of an injury issue.
Messi is the top scorer in LaLiga for 2019-20, having registered 19 goals in 22 appearances, while he contributed 12 assists-the most in the division, too. The captain of Blaugrana was still training separately on Saturday when the team conducted a session at Camp Nou.
Yet, the club’s all-time leading scorer was back with the rest of the squad on Monday. On the course, Lionel Messi appears to be fit for this week’s first LaLiga game in Barcelona.
Barcelona even tweeted pictures of that session showing Messi smiling alongside Luis Suarez as the players of Quique Setien warmed up.
However, questions have been raised that their key man might be absent for that fixture after Barca revealed Messi had a quadriceps injury last week and was unable to practice with the main squad.
The Spanish top-flight begins again on Thursday after a three-month break enforced by the coronavirus pandemic, with the Barca leaders visiting Real Mallorca on Saturday.
So, Barcelona will start LaLiga with two points ahead of their main rivals Real Madrid, and 11 games to go.
