Premier League Leicester vs Brentford: Brendan Rodger’s headed into the King Power Stadium on Sunday, knowing a win would take them into the top half of the table. However, what stood in their way was a Brentford team with momentum on their side.
Despite Leicester taking a two-goal lead within 33 minutes, the match remained nearby right until the end.
It was Castagne who opened the scoring with a beautiful curler. Maddison doubled the lead for the Foxes when he converted a set piece in the 33rd minute.
The hosts chased the game for the remainder of the fixture and managed to score just once through Yoane Wissa in the dying moments of the game.
However, it was not enough for the Bees who ended up on the losing side of things in a contest that 2-1.

Managers’ reactions
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers: “Marc hopefully should be back close to after the international break, if he’s not back by then. It’s just a tweak in his groin. (When asked about Marc Albrighton and Wilfred Ndidi injuries).
“Wilf’s not so good. We’re just waiting for a second opinion on that but whether he’ll play for the rest of the season or not, we’re unsure, which is a real, real shame for us.”
“(The overall situation with injuries looks) much healthier and much more competitive for us” following a match in which Timothy Castagne marked his return from a thigh injury in style.
Brentford manager Thomas Frank: “We played Leicester two times and three of their goals were top corner, worldies. We need a little bit of margins not to go their way. Leicester were the better side in the first half. We weren’t aggressive or brave enough to push forward.”
“I just said what are you doing, don’t be that good.”
“I didn’t expect anything else from this group of players. They have a fantastic mentality. They work so hard. That’s why we’re still in all the games. In so many games we don’t get anything easy. We play well enough to score more.
“We need to keep going and take that second-half performance forwards.
“I knew Maddison could do it – and Tielemans earlier this season. Maybe not Castagne but fair play to him.
“Not quite right. You need two negative tests and a medical test. Hopefully he can travel with the national team.” (On Christian Eriksen not being available after COVID-19).
