Real Madrid is considering a move for Villarreal defender Pau Torres as a possible replacement for Sergio Ramos, if the long-serving captain leaves the Bernabeu in the summer.
It is confirmed that the Spanish champions have already named Braga defender David Carmo as a possible successor to Ramos, and Villarreal’s Torres is another one on their list, according to Goal.
After joining from Seville in 2005, Ramos spent the last 16 years of his career at the Bernabeu.
The World Cup winner’s agreement expires at the end of the 2020/21 season.
While talks have been rumbling on extending his current contract for some time, with the club requiring the defender to take a pay cut, an exit is beginning to look possible this summer.
His departure would leave a significant gap for Real to fill.
