Ascot Champions Day: After winning in France on Sunday, Tempus will target Qipco British Champions Day.
After Group One-winning sprinter Glen Shiel announced his retirement, the Archie Watson-trained Kingman gelding took the lead in an important handicap at Ascot on King George Day before capturing Group Three honours at Salisbury. He now serves as the new flag-bearer for Hambleton Racing.
And he followed those up by winning the Group Three Prix Quincey under a penalty in Deauville, once more with Hollie Doyle at the helm.
Hambleton purchased Tempus from Juddmonte for 25,000 guineas, and he is already demonstrating his value to the point where a Group One assignment is imminent.
Watson said: “It was great to see Tempus follow up his Group Three win at Salisbury with a dominant display under a penalty in France. Everything went smoothly and Hollie was very impressed with the way he did it.
