NBA News: Myles Turner, a big man with the Indiana Pacers, has recently been at the centre of various trade rumours. The centre, though, indicates that his priority is winning in light of this behaviour.
Turner’s name has started to up frequently in trade rumours. The centre has drawn a lot of attention lately after first being mostly associated with the LA Lakers in trade discussions for Russell Westbrook.
This season, the 26-year-old has unquestionably proven how valuable he is as a player. Turner is performing as a centre should, averaging 18.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game.
Turner was recently questioned about his mental state when watching games while being embroiled in all these allegations by Law Murray of The Athletic. He answered:
“Nothing is altered. Simply go out there and concentrate on winning for this team. That’s just where I’m concentrating. You can’t focus on outside noise… nothing has changed, bro. I can only play my game if I get out there.”
Turner has undoubtedly had an impact on games for the young Indiana Pacers team, it goes without saying. The Pacers appear to be a difficult team to beat with Indiana startling the league with a 12-9 record and ranking fourth in the East.
This was especially true after the young team’s recent victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Turner and Buddy Hield managed to hand a loss to the Purple and Gold following a fierce fourth-quarter comeback while competing against the squad with which they are so closely associated.
Myles Turner defeated Lakers centre Anthony Davis with an astounding 15 points and 13 rebounds. Buddy Hield also finished the night with 15 points. His 3-point shooting wasn’t particularly impressive in this game, though.
Myles Turner and the LA Lakers are reportedly not interested in trading for each other.
Earlier in the season, trade speculations involving the LA Lakers and the Indiana Pacers were nearly nonstop. The majority of the speculations said that Myles Turner and Buddy Hield will be sent to Indiana in exchange for Russell Westbrook moving to Indiana. As the Lakers season went on, this simmered even more.
Unfortunately, because the deal also required giving up their limited draught capital, the Purple and Gold were reluctant to act. There hasn’t really been much progress or new information in this area.
Turner is currently attracting interest from both the LA Clippers and other teams. Before mid-December, the Lakers are unlikely to complete any trades. According to reports, the Purple and Gold might even think about keeping Westbrook instead of trading him.
