Anderson Silva: YouTuber Jake Paul defeats former UFC fighter Anderson Silva in a boxing match; after the match, Paul vowed to face MMA fighter Nate Diaz because “just being in the ring with him, witnessing his heart, his courage, his bravery, that’s the champion that I looked up to.”
Social media sensation Jake Paul extended his debut into sports by defeating 47-year-old UFC superstar Anderson Silva in a boxing match at the Gila River Arena in Arizona. In the eighth round of their eight-round fight, Paul submitted Silva.
The three judges ruled in favour of Paul 77-74 and 78-73 on two separate occasions. Paul now has a 6-0 record in boxing, despite the fact that none of his prior opponents had boxing experience.
Although Silva is the third mixed martial artist Paul has boxed, the Brazilian did defeat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. last year, thus Paul has a better chance of winning.
Paul later commented, “I feel like I’m living in a movie.” This was not anything you could have put in a tale.
“That’s the champion I looked up to, just being in the ring with him and seeing his heart, his courage, and his bravery. Such an inspiration, he is.”
He is, however, thinking of fighting another MMA star, specifically Nate Diaz, who was there at the match.
Paul remarked, “Everyone wants that fight. Nate, let’s fight in the ring rather than for free.
