Boxing News: Despite the fact that Hannah Rankin received a “big offer” for a world title unification from BOXXER promoter Ben-Shalom, Natasha Jonas is still waiting for word on the status of her next fight.
Jonas defeated his opponent in a shocking knockout in February in Manchester to claim the WBO super-welterweight title. On the historic Claressa Shields vs. Savannah Marshall night on September 10 at the O2 Arena in London, the Liverpudlian is eager to challenge Rankin, the WBA championship holder at 154 pounds.
“We put a huge offer into Hannah Rankin,” BOXXER promoter Ben Shalom told Sky Sports. “Whether they accept or not, I don’t know but a six-figure offer to fight against Natasha Jonas. If they don’t want it, they don’t want it and we have to move on.
