London Exhibition Fight: On February 25, at London’s 02 Arena, Hall of Fame boxer Floyd Mayweather will compete in an exhibition match against Aaron Chalmers of Geordie Shore, who is also an MMA fighter.
On Saturday, February 25, Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. will square off against Aaron Chalmers of Geordie Shore in London.
MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura, YouTuber Logan Paul, boxer Don Moore, kickboxer and MMA fighter Tenshin Nasukawa, and most recently, Youtuber Deji Olatunji in November 2022, were the opponents in Mayweather’s five exhibition fights to date.
He defeated Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor to cap off his career.
In addition to being a cast member on Geordie Shore, Chalmers is currently a qualified MMA fighter.
Liam Harrison, a Muay Thai fighter, had been Mayweather’s opponent, but Harrison injured his knee, therefore Mayweather will instead face Chalmers at the O2 Arena in London.
According to Mayweather, “I was originally scheduled to face a different opponent, but injuries happen, so I’m delighted that Aaron Chalmers could step up so that we could satisfy the fans.”
“An event like this has taken a long time to happen since the UK fans have always been wonderful to me and supportive throughout my career. I’m eager to add to the legacy of London’s O2 Arena.”
“I’ve been working with Adam Booth at the boxing gym and I’m ready to build a name for myself in the boxing world,” said Chalmers, who has a 5-2 pro MMA record.
“I seized this chance with both hands. It’s an honour to compete in the same ring as one of the best fighters of all time, and I’ll make the most of it.”
Future announcements are expected to include further information.
