AUS vs WI: At the Perth Stadium, where the ongoing first Test between Australia and the West Indies is taking place, batters are already complaining about the increased bounce. Nkrumah Bonner, a West Indian batter, was struck on the head by Cameron Green’s nasty short pitch, and the right-hander was unable to avoid the bouncer.
Green hit the batter hard on the helmet as he attempted to duck while he was batting on 8, and the West Indian physiotherapist immediately responded to him. He did continue to bat for a few more pitches before deciding to leave for the locker room, just as Jermaine Blackwood, the replacement batter, arrived.
Shamarh Brooks was brought in to play the remainder of the Test match as the concussion replacement after Bonner injured himself while batting on 16 off 47 deliveries.
The concussion substitution change proved to be a blessing in disguise for the visitors as Brooks scored 33 off 58 deliveries and has looked reliable since coming to the crease.

Australia, however, made a strong third-day comeback and was able to dismiss the West Indies for just 283 in the first innings.
A well-made 51 by Tagenarine Chanderpaul was the first wicket to go on Day 2, and skipper Kraigg Braithwaite’s valiant 64 came to an end in the 55th over. With his quick bowling, Mitchell Starc spooked the West Indies hitters and claimed three wickets.
Pat Cummins took the initiative and finished with noteworthy stats of 3/34. After their first innings, West Indies are 315 runs behind. This is a significant deficit.
