2022 T20 World Cup: The national cricket governing body has been urged by Younis Khan, a former batter for Pakistan, to support the individuals selected for the T20 World Cup 2022, which will take place in Australia in October and November. The 15-person team for the major competition, along with three reserves, has already been made public by Pakistan, which is now playing England in a seven-match series.
The announcement of the team, however, has a deadline of October 9 established by the ICC. If the teams need to make changes after the deadline has passed, ICC must authorise them.
Younis believes the Pakistan Cricket Board should not make changes to their selection and refer to the chosen players as the “best bunch.”
“There is a persistent clamour for changing the team. We previously tried this. Now, I believe they shouldn’t humiliate themselves by abruptly switching the team. These guys must be used by our instructors, captain, and PCB. There won’t be any further players joining your team, and these are the best players you have ” said Younis as quoted by Cricket Pakistan.
The current seven-match T20I series between Pakistan and England is tied at 2-2 after four games. By a score of three runs, the team won the fourth T20I on Sunday. On September 28, the series’ fifth game will be played.
Before entering the T20 World Cup Down Under, Pakistan will participate in a T20I tri-series against New Zealand and Bangladesh following the conclusion of the series.
Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup 2022: Babar Azam (c), Shadab Khan, Haris Rauf, Asif Ali, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, Haider Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Wasim, Iftikhar Ahmed, Usman Qadir, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Shan Masood.
