Cricket News: Manoj Prabhakar, the head coach of the men’s national cricket team, announced his resignation on Thursday, according to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) (December 15). In August of this year, the former Indian cricketer moved to Nepal, where he saw good success and favourable outcomes.
Successor to Pubudu Dissanayake, the 59-year-old coach served with the Nepal squad in 12 games, including seven ODIs. With Prabhakar, Nepal experienced early success, winning all three ODIs and a five-match T20I series against Kenya by a score of 3-2. His most notable achievement came in November when Nepal defeated UAE 2-1 to win the home ODI series.
But in the World Cup Super League, Nepal lost twice to Scotland and once to Namibia, with the third match against Namibia ending in a draw. With only eight victories out of 24 games played thus far, Nepal is currently suffering in the World Cup Super League two standings in the second-to-last position.
On December 15, 2022, Manoj Prabhakar announced his resignation as head coach of the Nepal Men’s National Cricket Team. The Cricket Association of Nepal said on Twitter that it has accepted his resignation and wished him luck in the future.

Three Ranji Trophy teams, including the Rajasthan cricket team, had Prabhakar as their head coach. During the 2016 T20 World Cup competition, he worked as a bowling coach for the Delhi squad and the Afghanistan national team.
Between 1984 and 1996, he participated in 169 international games for India. He claimed 157 ODI wickets and 96 Test wickets. He participated in domestic cricket for Delhi and recorded 385 FC wickets. In both Tests and ODIs, Prabhakar has played the most games as the opening batter or opening bowler in history.
