Cricket News: In the most recent T20I series against Afghanistan, Imad Wasim just joined the Pakistani team again.
Imad Wasim, an all-rounder for Pakistan, has stated that if he is again let go from the national squad without explanation by the selectors, he will take professional action. After being ignored by the Pakistani team for over a year without any justification, the 34-year-old aired his rage.
Before rejoining the team for the most recent three-match T20I series against Afghanistan in March 2023, Wasim last participated in a T20I match in Dubai against Australia in November 2021.
The southpaw admitted to a local TV station that the selectors didn’t explain to him why they removed him from the squad, and he wouldn’t tolerate this happening again.
“They [the selectors] never explained why they kept me away from the national team for the past 1.5 years. This will not take place once more. This time, it will be more essential how I behave,” Wasim was reported by Cricket Pakistan as saying. “I am at that point in my career where I have to take a step if they drop me without any reason again.”
When asked about his financial situation while not on the squad, he said that he didn’t experience any financial losses and that he actually made ten times as much money as he would have had he been on the team.
“When I was absent from the team, I never experienced any financial loss. In actuality, I made ten times as much money as I would have while playing for Pakistan,” he claimed.
The Champions Trophy champion added that he could bowl in any situation and has complete faith in his ability.
“I have faith in my skills. The T20 leagues of Australia and South Africa would not have signed me if I were that bowler who is allegedly dependent on the environment,” he added.
