Cricket News: Following the Apex Council Meeting, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly received word that veteran Indian batsman KL Rahul, who was preparing to make his comeback, had had yet another setback after testing positive for Covid-19. Rahul failed a Covid test in Bangalore, and his ability to travel to the West Indies for the remainder of the series will depend on how well he recovers.
Rahul has been out since the end of the IPL 2022 because he suffered a groyne injury only one day before the commencement of the India vs. South Africa T20I series last month. Rahul travelled to Germany for treatment, underwent surgery, and appeared to be doing well before being struck by Covid.
KL Rahul recently posted footage of himself working on his typical routines after confronting Jhulan Goswami during net training. His availability is contingent on his physical condition, but he has been named to India’s T20I team for the West Indies series that begins on July 29. Rahul recently spoke during a coaching session at the NCA, and director VVS Laxman tweeted about it.
“Thank you @klrahul for addressing the candidates attending the Level-3 coach certification course at NCA. Listening to your different experiences as a player and captain will definitely help these passionate coaches to learn, improve and excel in their careers. @BCCII #NCA,” he tweeted.

There are more lessons to be learned from the India vs. West Indies series besides Rahul’s growth. Additionally, there is a rumour that Ravindra Jadeja may be given a day off before the ODI series begins tomorrow. Jadeja, who was named vice-captain of the series, is said to have a niggle in his knee, and the medical staff may request that he sit out the three games to prevent exacerbating it.
