ICC Men’s Player: Axar Patel of Team India is one of three candidates for ICC Men’s Player of the Month in September 2022. The other two players are Australian all-rounder Cameron Green and renowned wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan.
Axar has the chance to showcase his abilities more frequently now that Ravindra Jadeja is unable to play due to a knee ailment. He was named Player of the Series for taking eight wickets in three Twenty20 Internationals against Australia. He made the most of his opportunities.

The left-arm spinner went 3 for 33 in the decisive match in Hyderabad, taking out Matthew Wade, Josh Inglis, and Aaron Finch. With eight wickets at an average of 7.88 and an economy rate of 6.30, Axar finished the series.
The cricketer from Gujarat performed admirably in the first T20I match against South Africa, finishing with 1 for 16 from four overs at Thiruvananthapuram.
Rizwan and Green will give Axar a stiff challenge
Axar was very effective with the ball last month, but Rizwan, the top T20I batter, also continued his stellar play with the willow. The Pakistani opener scored seven fifties in 10 games in September.
Rizwan scored 55 against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final after going over the 70-point mark against Hong Kong and India in the UAE, but he was unable to lead his team to victory.
In six T20Is during the home series against England, he scored four half-centuries. Rizwan scored the most runs for Pakistan, scoring 316 runs at an average of 63.20 and a strike rate of 138.60 in the seven-match series, which Pakistan lost 4-3.
