India-Pakistan Match: 12 more people have been detained by the British Police in relation to the racial disturbances in Leicestershire that broke out late in August of this year after the match between India and Pakistan. According to what is known, the first arrest was made on December 8 after a person was allegedly involved in a violent disorderly conduct incident on May 22, 2022, in Harewood Street, Leicestershire.
The Leicestershire Police also offered an update, noting that over 47 arrests had already been made and that 12 more men had been taken into custody, some of them were being held on charges related to various disorderly conduct offences. The police officer in charge of the investigation, Inspector Rob Arthur, provided a new update on the arrests related to the incident.
According to Detective Chief Inspector Rob Arthur, who was reported by India Today, “We’ve been working hard behind the scenes studying the CCTV material and all the hours of body-worn video from cops who were working and making IDs of anyone who may be involved.”
“This work has enabled us to conduct these arrests and take these individuals into custody so that we may obtain their accounts. Due to the nature of the task, it has taken time, and we will continue to complete it.
