IND vs AUS: Each Mohammad Shami and Mohammed Siraj claimed three wickets.
On March 17 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, the opening of a three-match ODI series between India and Australia got underway. At the toss, Hardik Pandya made the call to put the visitors in to bat first on a true cricketing pitch.
At 19.3 overs, Steve Smith’s team had positioned themselves well. After pounding the Indian bowlers all over the place in Mumbai, Mitchell Marsh was putting on an absolute masterclass.
It took India the fewest amount of overs to remove Australia in a one-day international thanks to Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja, who frightened the opposition and bowled them out for just 188 in 35.4 overs.
At Wankhede, Shami and Siraj have a ball discussion.
Australia pushed on the throttle and started scoring at a terrific speed when Travis Head drew one onto his stumps from a good length of Mohammed Siraj. Mitch Marsh did most of the scoring and stitched a 72-run partnership with Steve Smith.
Ravindra Jadeja created a web by slowing down play and allowing the ball to get some air, which forced Mitch Marsh to take a fake shot while still maintaining his advantage over the opposition. Marsh was then sent back to the pavilion. After the 20th over, everything for the visitors has gone south, going from 129/2 in 19.4 to 188/10 in 35.4 overs.
In his second outing, Mohammad Shami was on fire and recorded his second-best ODI bowling performance against Australia, scooping up 3/17 in just six overs, including two maidens. Siraj cleaned up the tail as Shami played the second fiddle.
Australia, on the other hand, scored just 188 against India in Mumbai, which was their third-lowest total ever against India. The other two low scores were, respectively, 141 and 181 at Ahmedabad and Indore.
