Jaiswal also made IPL history during his innings, scoring the quickest fifty in the competition’s history in just 13 balls. Pat Cummins and KL Rahul, who had accomplished the feat in 14 balls, were surpassed by him.
The southpaw got RR’s innings off to a strong start by hitting KKR skipper Nitish Rana for back-to-back sixes on the opening two deliveries. He then hit three more boundaries in the same over, giving him a total of 26, which is tied for the second-highest total in IPL history for the opening over of an innings.
The RR opener failed to hit Shardul Thakur for a six, falling two runs short of reaching his second IPL hundred. He instead swept him for a four to remain unbeaten on 98 and helped RR chase the second-fastest 150-plus score in the tournament’s history.
Yuzvendra Chahal surpasses all other IPL players in terms of wickets taken.
Earlier in the first innings, after being given the opportunity to bat first, KKR scored a pitiful 149/8 until Yuzvendra Chahal’s four-wicket haul (4/25) broke the back of their batting. With 187 wickets under his belt, the wristspinner surpassed Dwayne Bravo’s total of 183 wickets to become the IPL’s top wicket-taker.
Additionally, Trent Boult recorded 2/25 in his three-over session. After their sweeping victory, RR moved up to third place on the points chart with six victories from 12 games. On Sunday, May 14, they will square off against Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
