Men’s Cricket in Pakistan: Former head coach Mickey Arthur has been named the new Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Just in time for the Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, the South African coach rejoins the side.
With his new position, Arthur would be in charge of creating, implementing, and overseeing the Pakistan men’s team’s tactical strategy. Together with the home series against the West Indies and the tour to Australia, the 54-year-old will serve as a member of the coaching staff for the 50-over World Cup in India. He will participate in the Asia Cup competition with the Pakistani team as well.
Mickey Arthur emphasised how eager he was to work with the team and stated his delight about rejoining the Pakistan cricket team. He continued by saying that Pakistan’s team is talented and capable of dominating all competitions. He is confident that he can boost their output and bring out their greatest work in the future.
“I am ecstatic to be working with the Pakistan cricket squad once again and am looking forward to it immensely. Since leaving, I have followed the players’ individual and collective performances,” Edward stated.
“This is a talented group with the potential to be the best in all formats, and my effort is to put tactics in place and create an environment that may contribute to further enhancing their performances so that we can get the best out of them,” he continued.
Mickey will undoubtedly apply the lessons he learned during his first term in order to have an even more fruitful second one: Sethi
Najam Sethi, the chairman of the PCB, also welcomed Arthur back into the coaching staff and expressed his happiness that Arthur had returned to the Pakistan men’s cricket team in a more significant capacity. He thinks the South African will apply the knowledge gained from his first term and have an even more fruitful second one.
Sethi added, “I am glad that Mickey has officially rejoined the Pakistan men’s cricket squad with an enlarged role in which he will be responsible for developing and putting into practice tactics for the upcoming assignments across all forms.”
“Mickey is well-versed in the present players, the structure, and the system because he previously lived and worked in Pakistan. He will undoubtedly apply what he has learned from his first term in order to have an even more fruitful second one,” Sethi continued.
