In a recent event in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023, the match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), which was initially slated to take place on May 4, has been delayed to accommodate the Lucknow Municipal Corporation elections.
The IPL management has chosen to postpone the game to Wednesday, May 3, where it will take place in the afternoon time slot, in order to accommodate the need for the state machinery to be engaged in guaranteeing the smooth conduct of the elections. Notably, the game was initially scheduled to start at 3:30 PM IST as well.
Elections for the urban governing council in the capital city of Lucknow will take place on May 4 and 11, respectively. Voters will select representatives for 17 municipal corporations, 199 municipal councils, and 439 Nagar panchayats. On May 13, the results for the same would be announced.
On April 19, Lucknow Super Giants will play Rajasthan Royals.
