Australian Women Cricketers: Fans of the sport frequently get to see two teams square off on the field, but it’s rare to see players from competing teams come together and have an interesting talk after a long day of cricket.
Pakistan was only able to score 235 runs in their allotted overs in the third one-day international of the series, which went in favour of the Australians. On Saturday, January 21, after the game between the two teams, players from both teams engaged in a constructive post-game discussion at the North Sydney Oval.
In a video provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), players from Pakistan, including Nida Dar, wicketkeeper-batsman Sidra Nawaz, Fatima Sana, and Tuba Hassan, converse with Australia’s captain Meg Lanning, Jess Jonassen, and other players in what appears to be a friendly conversation. The Pakistani supporters who had come to the location for the game were subsequently spotted chatting with a handful of Dar’s fellow spectators.
The Pakistani side is currently playing three T20Is and three ODIs while on a white-ball tour of Australia.
Australia comprehensively dominated the proceedings, winning all three games by sizable margins in the just-completed ODI series.
Beth Mooney was the standout player, scoring 191 runs in three games at a fantastic average of 95.50. With five wickets at an economy rate of 3.15, renowned Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardener shared the series lead in wickets taken.
Nida Dar, a Pakistani all-rounder, signed a jersey for a lucky fan. After taking a few pictures with some of the other fans, Nida appeared to be thrilled by the fan’s response to her gesture.
This Tuesday (January 24) is the start of the three-match T20I series, and Pakistan will be hoping for a better showing following a disappointing showing in the ODI series. The Women’s T20 World Cup is coming up, and the Australians would like to add another prize to their already impressive trophy case, thus the series would be quite important.
